Cindy Duncan, APRN-BC, PMHNP


Cindy is Board Certified by the American Nurses Association as both a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric-Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing from Old Dominion University, her Master’s degree in Psychiatric-Mental Health Nursing from the Medical College of Virginia and a Post Graduate Certification from University of Louisville as a Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner. With over 30 years experience, Cindy has worked with children, adolescents and adults in a variety of mental health settings, including private practice, psychiatric hospitals, residential treatment centers, and community mental health centers. She served as faculty for Psychiatric-Mental health nursing at Norfolk Sentara School of Nursing. As a member of the Griffin Judicial Circuit Felony Drug Court team, Cindy developed and implemented the treatment portion of the program. Cindy’s extensive experience in diagnostic assessment, psychotherapy and psychopharmacology prepared her to assist patients with challenging issues such as trauma, addiction, depression, anxiety and ADHD. She provides empathic and holistic care and believes that an empowering and collaborative process is important for healing change. Her passion for her work manifests in her sincere desire to serve others.
