Wykeisha Highsmith MSN, APRN, PMHNP-BC

Wykeisha Highsmith is a board certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP-BC), family specialty, with the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).  She earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Howard University and a Master of Science in Nursing and Post-Master’s Certificate in Family Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing from Yale University School of Nursing.

Wykeisha provides psychiatric services for individuals 5 to 75 years of age.  She specializes in children, adolescents, and family.  She utilizes an integrative medical model in providing psychiatric evaluations and ongoing medication management.  She offers a variety of treatment modalities to include:  Holistic treatment – nutrition, exercise, herbal and vitamin supplementation, extended laboratory studies, Psychoneuroendocrinology, psychosocial and spiritual wellness, referrals and others.  In addition to being an excellent diagnostician in the treatment of most common mental illnesses (e.g. ADHD, MDD, GAD, Bipolar Disorder, Psychosis…), work experience has enabled Wykeisha to develop specialty skills involving individuals who suffer from co-morbid physical medical conditions, neglect, abandonment, trauma, self-injurious behavior, anger outbursts, chronic stress, hyper-arousal, mood deregulation, inattention, dysthymia, excessive worry, sleep disturbance, addiction, borderline, and obsessive personality character traits.

Though she’s a native of Compton and Los Angeles, California, as a teen Wykeisha fell in love with the southern lifestyle while searching for colleges.  In 2015, she decided to make Georgia her permanent home.  She enjoys spending quality time with her 6 y.o. ausome son and extended family who are dispersed throughout the greater Atlanta area.
