Marcia Younker, APRN-BC, PMHNP

Marcia is Board Certified by the American Nurses Association as both a Psychiatric/Mental Health Nurse Practitioner and a Psychiatric/Mental Health Clinical Nurse Specialist. Originally from Texas, she later moved to Georgia where she obtained a Master’s Degree in Adult Psychiatric Nursing from Georgia State University and a Post Graduate Certification in Family Mental Health Nursing from the University of Southern Alabama. Marcia has been practicing in the mental health field for over 30 years. Clinically, she has provided assessments, diagnosis, treatment and medication management for a wide variety of mental health populations and conditions. She has practiced in outpatient settings, hospitals, nursing homes, corrections, educational settings and other institutional venues. In addition to her clinical practice, Marcia served on the faculty of a Nursing School as an Associate Professor of Nursing and was the Course Coordinator for the college’s Psychiatric-Mental Health nursing curriculum. Because the mind and body are so closely integrated, Marcia uses a holistic approach to treatment in collaboration with the client to develop a comprehensive and individualized treatment plan.
